The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) today came out with images of the moon’s unexplored south pole area captured by the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC) fitted in the spacecraft which is expected to make a soft landing in the region in a couple of days.
The space agency further said that its mission operations complex in Bengaluru has now more routes to reach the lander module, which comprises lander Vikram and rover Pragyan.
This camera that assists in locating a safe landing area -- without boulders or deep trenches -- during the descent is developed by Ahmedabad-based Space Applications Centre (SAC), a major research and development centre of ISRO.
