Job check on somebody, can you say, yeah, i want you to check the guy out for this job being a member of the supreme court, associate of justice. but don t go into this drunken mess thing of his, this dr. jekyll problem of his. because it s showing up in all of these incidents, but don t check that one out. can you actually do that at the white house? can you say, don t check out the main problem? that s not likely to happen, because this whole process, the background process exists for the white house s benefit. it s a way for the white house for their potential nominees. it sounds like you say you can give the fbi the job of covering up. normally they have no incentive to do it. if they say that to the fbi in the case of a normal bi, background investigation, and then later after the nomination is announced, something comes up, the white house would be kbair embarrassed. so in my experience, the white house wants a very full and complete process. so let me ask a question, c ....

For the first time tonight. this is obviously somebody who believes she has information that is of use to the fbi s inquiries and she has been frustrated in her effort to reach them and they don t want to hear it. what is your reaction? all of this is surprising. it defies anything i know about in terms of experiences whether it is a criminal investigation or a background investigation where, if people have information to volunteer, that the fbi is not welcoming it. it s not including it in its reports and assessing it. and if, you know, necessary, following up on it. so, it doesn t make a lot of sense to me at this point in time. i would mention about this particular affidavit that it is about mark judge and perhaps not about brett kavanaugh and so the challenge there is relevance. but at the same time, this whole background process is to determine if there is derogatory information that indicates the candidate for the job is not suitable. ....

About brett kavanaugh and so the challenge there is relevance. but at the same time this whole background process is to determine if there is derogatory information that indicates the candidate for the job is not suitable. in terms of finding that derogatory information, obviously this is not a criminal investigation. this is a background investigation. the client here, we keep being told, is the white house and this is about figuring out if somebody is suitable for a big job promotion basically. but we have these reports now from christine blasey ford that she s never spoken to the fbi despite her public testimony in the senate, the fbi has not been interested in talking to her. deborah ramirez did speak with fbi agents. she gave them information, contact information for other witnesses who she says can corroborate what she has to say. according to ramirez s trng the fbi has not been interested in following up weith any of those witnesses. is there a bright line where ....

Not, correct? either you believe the sworn testimony of three individuals or rather the statements they have delivered under penalty of felony and judge brett kavanaugh or you believe this dr. ford s account. i agree that you can t square the two of them. but it is very clear that judge brett kavanaugh s a clear. it s consistent. his calendars do provide some circumstanti circumstantial evidence of his account. three individuals have given sworn statements under penalty of felony, including a lifelong friend of dr. ford s all say their recollections are consistent with judge brett kavanaugh. you say they have all given sworn testimony. if the judge feels the facts are on his side, why did he refuse to support a new fbi background check? so i think there is a few misnomers about what the fbi background process is and isn t. i want your viewers to understand this because i don t ....

For example, mark judge, who is alleged to have been in the room, that s the first person the fbi will want to talk to. another question, ali, will this inquiry be limited in scope just to the dr. ford allegations or look at the ramirez and swetnick allegations? that has to be worked out. greg, that s an interesting point. judge kavanaugh and the republicans on the committee kept on saying the fbi does not determine culpability or guilt in these investigations. but to ken s point the specific questions that are being asked, the when did this happen, where did it happen, who was there, what do they all have to say about it, that is something the fbi can probably determine. that s right. i think since the beginning of this process with respect to judge kavanaugh there s been a lot of confusion, some sort of intentional, some unintentional about what the fbi background process includes. as ken mentioned, this would not be a criminal investigation which would culminate in the fbi recom ....
