Turkey apologises to Iraq for defence minister visit - prime minister

Turkey has apologised for the unannounced visit of its defence minister to a base in Iraq, said Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Kadhimi.
On Saturay, Kadhimi told Kurdish news outlet Rudaw English that the visit of Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar without first seeking permission from Baghdad was due to a "technical error."
“The Iraqi defense minister spoke to his Turkish counterpart two days ago – the Turkish government has apologised for the entry of its defense minister into Iraqi land,” Kadhimi told the news website. "A technical error is what led to the Turkish defence minister entering Iraq.

IRAN’S President Hassan Rouhani says the lifting of all US sanctions will create ‘a new atmosphere’ for the Islamic Republic’s economic cooperation with the world.
In a meeting with Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic in Tehran on Sunday, Rouhani condemned the United States’ illegal sanctions and economic war against the Iranian people for the past three years.
He said the new administration in Washington has pledged to rejoin the 2015 nuclear deal officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Baghdad, Apr 4 (Prensa Latina) Iraq and the United States will discuss next Wednesday about the US military presence in the Arab country, according to a statement released here today by the Security and Defense Committee of the Council of Representatives.
They will also address other key points such as the economy, politics and security in a third round of strategic dialogue between the two parties.
According to Iraqi representatives, the country can defend its borders without the need for foreign forces.
The member of that body, Badr Al-Ziyadi, assured that Iraq has excellent and advanced security forces to protect its sovereignty and independence.
