On Monday, businessman Raj Kundra was arrested in an alleged pornography-related case. He has been named the 'key conspirator' in the case. He was later produced before a court which remanded him in police custody till July 23. According to the police, the case is just the tip of an iceberg in a porn films racket. âAfter his arrest, the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Hemant Nagrale, said in a statement, "There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We've arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this."

MUMBAI: To mislead investigating agencies, businessman Ripu Sudan Balkrishna Kundra alias Raj Kundra (45), arrested on Monday for production of pornographic films, sold his app ‘Hotshots’ to the UK-based company Kenrin Pvt Ltd owned by his brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi but controlled activities from Mumbai, police said on Tuesday.
Raj Kundra, husband of actor Shilpa Shetty, and his IT head Ryan Thorpe, who were arrested by the crime branch, were produced before the 37th metropolitan magistrate on Tuesday and remanded in custody till July 23. Police had already arrested nine people earlier in the case.
Kundra was involved in the streaming of porn videos through the ‘Hotshots’ app, police said. ‘Hotshots’ has now been removed from mobile platforms. Kundra supplied the content and controlled the UK firm from his Viaan Industries office. Kundra said that he sold ‘Hotshots’ for $25,000 in 2019.

Raj Kundra was arrested on Monday night by the Mumbai Crime Branch officials for his involvement in alleged production of pornographic content that was streamed on his apps. The cops have named him the 'key conspirator' and on Tuesday, he was remanded police custody till July 23. While the probe is going on, Bollywood singer Mika Singh revealed that he has seen one of Raj Kundra's mobile apps.
