We recently told you about the high pay some Danbury public employees are earning… Now comes word that six of New Fairfield’s 10 highest-paid town employees are police, with some of the officers earning more than $245,000 thanks to overtime… that according to 2022 payroll data from New Fairfield. That’s more than half of all overtime paid by the town. In New Fairfield, of the $5.5 million paid to 211 municipal employees last year, $424,000 was overtime compensation for 45 individual employees.

At the meeting that is planned to be held tomorrow, the Charter Revision Commission in Ridgefield will continue reviewing almost 100 suggested changes to the town charter… changes that have been submitted by residents and town officials over the past two months. Some are simply minor clarifications to descriptions of various town boards. Others however, would mean big changes in the town’s form of government. Ridgefield residents are invited to suggest changes in person at the beginning of tomorrow’s meeting, that starts at 6:30 PM in the Town Hall Annex.

The owners of a 102-year-old horse farm offer are now offering to sell their land to Danbury for what has been termed a ‘negotiable’ price of $1.75 Million. If the current Happy Trails Farm on Mountainville Road is acquired by the city, it would mean more open space for education and possible expansion of nearby parks, including Rogers Park, Tarrywile Park, and the Old Quarry Nature Center. The deal with Ed and Lucy Prybylski, the owners of Happy Trails, calls for a five-year lease-back plan, meaning the farm would keep operating for a few more years.

A long running investigation has led to the arrest of 3 Danbury residents on drug charges. 29 year old Robert Stevenson was taken into custody during a traffic stop Thursday. 2 other people in the car were also arrested. They are only identified so far as a 30-year-old Danbury man who was found in possession of cocaine, and a 29-year-old Danbury woman who was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The 30-year-old Danbury man and the 29-year-old Danbury woman were released on a written promise to appear.

The former New Fairfield Middle School lunch aide who stands accused of sexually assaulting a student is due back in court today. 31 year old Andie Rosafort has pleaded not guilty to charges including second-degree sexual assault, enticing a minor by computer and risk of injury to a child. She is now bound by a protective order, prohibiting Rosafort from contacting the victim. She is also prohibited from talking to him, threatening him, or abusing, harassing, following or interfering with him. Rosafort also has been ordered by the court to stay at least 100 yards from the victim at all times. ...
