How Can We Grow in Biblical Patience?

16 Mar
Galatians 5:19-21 describes the fruitless existence of the flesh or sinful nature. The verses that follow in Galatians 5 describe the fruitful and productive work of the Holy Spirit in the Christian's life.
The contrast is as absolute as the difference between life and death. The apostle Paul has already explained in Galatians 5 that the flesh and the Spirit are mortal enemies, locked in deadly combat. The passions of the sinful nature are at war with the desires of the regenerate nature (Gal. 5:17). This warfare takes place within the heart, mind, soul, and body of the believer. In this conflict, the Christian is ordered to live by the Spirit rather than to indulge the flesh.
