Dr Desmond Izunwanne, a lecturer at the Imo State University, Owerri has been suspended for allegedly slapping female students who arrived at a class session behind schedule and in non-departmental uniform. It was learnt that the management made of the university approved the immediate suspension of the lecturer till further notice. This was made known in a statement signed by the spokesperson for the University, Ralph Njokuobi, noting that the lecturer’s action was “barbaric and unbecoming.”
