Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today alleged that authorities in Assam are preventing him from visiting the Batadrava Satra Temple, the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva, an Assamese saint and scholar from the 15th century, in Nagaon.
Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, was allegedly denied entry to Batadrava Than, the birthplace of 15th-century Assamese saint Sri Sri Sankardev, despite prior permission from the managing committee. The incident occurred during Gandhi's yatra in Assam's Morigaon district, where he was also prohibited from holding a street corner meeting and a padayatra.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today urged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to reconsider the route of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on Monday, in view of the hugely anticipated consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
