The Germany international ended his drought in the eighth minute and then teed up Christian Pulisic a minute and 42 seconds later to give Chelsea command, which was furthered through Kurt Zouma's header.

West Bromwich Albion’s stunning 5-2 win at Chelsea last weekend will count for nothing if the next-to-last team in the Premier League doesn’t beat Southampton. Host West Brom is 11 points from safety with eight matches remaining and has a game in hand on 17th-place Newcastle. Southampton is looking to maintain momentum from a comeback win over Burnley ahead of an FA Cup semifinal against Leicester. Brighton, which is level on points with Newcastle, hosts an Everton side still thinking of a top-four finish. Everton has been stronger away from Goodison Park. The Toffees have taken 18 points from 15 home games and 29 from their 14 away fixtures.

Has the real Kai Havertz finally turned up? £70m signing shines as Chelsea rout Palace

However, he opened the scoring at Selhurst Park and then set up Christian Pulisic for a goal as the visitors went about putting the game to bed by the break.
Havertz, though, made the game worth watching from start to finish, as he was a constant threat to the hosts' defence.
This was the kind of performance few Chelsea fans expected after watching the 21-year-old fail to show exactly why their club paid such a lofty fee for the versatile attacking midfielder. Indeed, this was the first time that Havertz had scored and assisted in the same Premier League game.

Berlin (AFP) – Union Berlin are steeling themselves for a challenging trip to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Saturday as the European champions look to shake off their midweek defeat by Paris Saint-Germain.

'They are the dangerous players' – Olayinka wary of Aubameyang and Lacazette threats at Arsenal

The Nigeria international, 25, cited the danger the Gabon and France internationals represent in Mikel Arteta’s side, albeit, he is counting on the club’s away form to pick up a favourable result in North London.
“I think we have been doing well in away games, and [on Thursday] we can do the same. I believe we can do the same," Olayinka told
“They play collective, so everyone is important in the team. But I think Aubameyang and Lacazette are players which we need to watch out for. They are the most important and dangerous players.
“I am focused on [Thursday's] game and I can say that I am excited to be in this great stadium, so we’ll see what happens.”

Robert Lewandowski leads a lengthy list of injury absentees for Bayern Munich as they look to remain on course for a record-extending ninth consecutive Bundesliga crown with victory over Union Berlin on Saturday (kick-off: 2.30pm BST).
Latest
Lewandowski was careering towards Gerd Müller's single-season record of 40 goals before picking up a knee injury on international duty with Poland. Even in his absence, Bayern took care of business against nearest challengers RB Leipzig last Saturday, with Thomas Müller teeing up Leon Goretzka for what proved to be the winner in a 1-0 victory. Hansi Flick's side have opened up a seven-point lead at the top of the table, but Lewandowski has been joined in the treatment room by Goretzka, Niklas Süle and, latterly, Lucas Hernandez. Add in Alphonso Davies' suspensions and the fact that Bayern have the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, and Flick will be forced to rotate his side to some degree. Javi Martinez and Jamal Musiala are among those who could be handed rare starts, while Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will continue to lead the line in Lewandowski's stead.

Folarin Balogun close to signing new Arsenal contract

Soon after, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta publicly admitted he was hopeful that he could talk Balogun into staying, and the Daily Mail state that he has managed to do exactly that.
Arteta is understood to have worked tirelessly to convince Balogun that he has a future at Arsenal, and handing the teenager a handful of substitute appearances in the first team has helped reassure Balogun that he can make a permanent breakthrough at some point in the near future.
The news, which has since been backed up by the likes of David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano, will come as a huge boost to Arsenal, who at times felt as though Balogun was closer to leaving than staying at the Emirates.
