Trigg County Chamber Announces Cadiz Christmas Parade Theme

The Cadiz-Trigg County Christmas Parade is on track for the first Saturday in December, with the theme focused on the lights that help welcome the holiday

  The Cadiz-Trigg County Chamber of Commerce has added nearly a dozen new members in the past year despite a global pandemic. The Chamber hosted its first in-person Lunch and Learn in over a year Thursday, drawing over 30 members to the Cadiz Renaissance Center. Beth Sumner was named the chamber’s membership director in January. She highlighted the new members that were added in the past year which mostly included new businesses that had opened their doors for the first time. The process to find a new principal for Trigg County High School continues, with a replacement possible by next month. Superintendent Bill Thorpe told board members Thursday evening, seven candidates had applied for the position, but one was eliminated because they did not meet the criteria. Thorpe said they are in the process of contacting references and will be meeting Monday to possibly narrow down the candidates even further and could begin interviews the following week. The Trigg County Chamber of Commerce will host two ribbon-cutting events over the next several days. Chamber Director Beth Sumner said the first event would be held Saturday morning at 8:00 at the Cadiz-Trigg County Farmer’s Market at 70 Main Street. Sumner added attendees and vendors are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines and use masks when social distancing is not possible. The regular season of the Farmer’s Market runs Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to Noon through the end of October.
