Kaziranga- On Tuesday, a one-horned rhino was killed by poachers in the Kaziranga National Park. This was the first incident of poaching recorded this year in Assam.
According to the reports, the rhino was killed and its horn was cut off from the body and taken. The forest officials found the carcass of the rhino Hanuman forest camp in the Kohora range of the national park.

22 COVID patients die in a hospital in Maharashtra's Nashik after an oxygen tanker leaks outside the hospital, making oxygen supply to critical patients unavailable for half an hour.

Maharashtra- In a rather unfortunate and shocking incident from Nashik, an oxygen tank leaked outside a hospital which resulted in the death of 22 COVID-19 patients due to the non-availability of medical oxygen. As per reports, critical patients were unable to avail medical oxygen for half an hour due to the unfortunate leakage.
This incident occurred in the Zakir Hussain municipal hospital. The District Commissioner Suraj Mandhare confirmed the cases of fatalities by saying, "As per current information, 22 people have died due to the interrupted supply of oxygen at the Zakir Hussain municipal hospital."

Manipur- The N.Biren Singh-led Manipur Government on Wednesday issued fresh guidelines after the state witnessed a surge in the cases of the novel coronavirus. The government had previously already issued COVID-19 appropriate guidelines on the 18th of April imposing night curfew, restrictions of gatherings, and rostered the opening of shops in Paona and Thangal Bazaar. These fresh guidelines are in addition has the COVID cases in the state has increased.

Guwahati- On Monday, Assam saw the biggest surge in the cases of the novel coronavirus with a staggering 1,367 fresh infections. Seven deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours. The districts which reported the freshest new cases are Kamrup Metro with a staggering 482 cases followed by Dibrugarh at 109, Kamrup Rural at 106, and Sonitpur at 67. With a positivity rate of 2.09%, the total active cases in the state now amount to 6,316 cases.

Priyanka Mohite, the 26-year old lady from Satara, Maharashtra has become the first Indian woman to scale Mt Annapurna, the tenth highest mountain in the world. She achieved the feat on April 16, 2021.
Priyanka had earlier scaled Mt Makalu, the fifth highest mountain in the world at 8,485 meters. She holds the record of being the first Indian woman to scale Mt Makalu in May 2019.
