Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Custom Items update lets players pick their power-ups
A free update to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch adds the "Custom Items" feature to offline VS races and some online races. It allows players to specify which items will — or won’t — appear in Item Boxes on the course.
