Lines to be expanded by 118 km as part of Phase 4 to benefit commuters living in the suburbsThe Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation has floated a tender for the preparation of a feasibility report on the.
Currently, Metro trains operate at a frequency of five minutes during the peak hour on weekdays in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru Metro: According to BMRCL, this will help a large number of commuters bound towards Trinity, Indiranagar, Benniganahalli and KR Pura Metro stations as the trains will be available every three minutes in this section between 8.45 am and 10.20 am.
Every morning, the train will 'wake-up’ to a command from the Operations Control Centre (OCC). This will activate the interior lights and start the engine. Following this, an automatic self-check will ensure the technical fitness of the train. It will then proceed through automated washing plants for cleaning before moving to the platforms. At night, the train will enter a 'sleep mode'.
Officials from BMRCL said that there was a communication problem within the signalling system between Byappanahalli and Garudacharpalya, leading to real-time status updates for various data types being unavailable. The issue was resolved at 9.20 am, with train services normalised by 9.22 am.
