(TNS) — A group of telecommunications trade groups that represent a broad range of Internet providers has filed a lawsuit trying to block Gov. Andrew Cuomo's landmark new law that would make them provide $15-a-month Internet service to low-income customers.
The new law, which was passed as part of the state budget last month, is part of a broader effort by the Cuomo administration to ensure that everyone in the state — regardless of income or location — can get high-speed Internet, which during the pandemic has become more important than ever as students and workers have been forced to work and study from home.

HORNBROOK, Ore. – Residents of Hornbrook, California said they’ve had enough of the town’s smelly water. They are now asking the State of California for answers on an issue they say has been happening for years.
A basic necessity, Hornbrook residents said is running out dry. While the State of California appears headed for drought. The small town of Hornbrook has an added stressor stinky water.
“Everyone knows what a rotten egg fart smells like. I mean they’re horrible,” said Billie Stiolin has lived in Hornbrook for 1.5 years.
“Now imagine turning your water on and just this rotten egg fart smell coming out of your faucet,” said Stiolin.
