independent bookseller myself and i say you got to make the stores good and take away the corporate controls upon them and say look to yourselves and make decent stores and enough of them do that and you start moving up. >> stop with the promotion from certain publishers, just give me the best books and put them up front and you decide what your neighborhood needs and thrives on, you empowered local man managers. >> we had to take away corporate controls and one was used to sell the space so every single store have the exact same books because a publisher pay for them to be there. take that away if you it booksellers do the job they need to do themselves. >> what impact did it make? >> i think the honest truth is many stores became much better, a few became worse because when you let people do their own thing, it will go both ways but at least we can see the ones
