Following positive performance during the Tết holiday, cross-border trade showed good signals and all customs clearance procedures have returned to normal since February 18.
The Border Gate of Bac Luan 2 Bridge in Mong Cai city, the Northeastern province of Quang Ninh, resumed customs clearance after the lunar New Year (Tet) holiday on February 12, five days early.
This move is due to booming import-export activities via these border gates as domestic consumer demand for Tết holiday tends to increase. That leads to complicated developments in cross-border smuggling and trade frauds.
