The Nigeria Police Force, the Borno State Command, has confirmed the death of eight persons who died in a clash between farmers and herders over alleged land dispute in the Bayo Local Government Area of the state. This was confirmed by the State Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar, at a meeting with leaders of the farmer association and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) on Friday in Maiduguri, the state capital.

Two police officers of the Borno State command, Nigeria Police Force, identified as Godiya and PC Kubra lost their lives while 17 others sustained various degrees of injuries in an autocrash. SaharaReporters gathered that the accident occurred along Jos axis, Plateau State on Monday while the police officers were on their way to Akwa Ibom State for the upcoming 13th Biennial Police Games, UYO 2022. When contacted, the Borno State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sani kamilu Shatambaya, confirmed the incident.

The Borno State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has said that its operatives arrested a 25-year-old housewife identified as Fatima Abubakar, for allegedly killing her husband, Goni Abbah, with poison.   The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Borno State Commissioner of Police, Mr Abdu Umar, who confirmed the incident in Maiduguri said the suspect was arrested on October 19 at Anguwan Doki.
