Los Cerros Limited (ASX: LCL) has announced results from an exploration program ongoing at its 100%-owned Quinchia gold project. The company has been drilling for gold in the hills of central western Colombia. The Quinchia project is located in the Mid-Cauca porphyry belt, 100km south of Medellin. The region is home to a number of multi-million ounce gold discoveries, and Los Cerros is aiming to identify another.
The Australian-based company says that drilling results from the ongoing drill campaign at its South American property continue to exceed expectations, eclipsing any other results ever conducted in the broader Quinchia district.

104-yr-old Colombian Beats COVID-19 'for 2nd Time'
Colombian doctors say a 104-year-old woman has beaten COVID-19 for a second time.
Doctors gave Carmen Hernández a standing ovation on Monday, celebrating her recovery after 21 days of hospitalization.
Dr. Yamit Noe Hurtado, Manager of San Rafael De Tunja University hospital, said doctors classified the case as "re-infection" after she first tested positive last June.
Despite her advanced age, Carmen did not require a bed in the intensive care unit to defeat the virus.
In June 2020 - the first time she was infected - she overcame the disease in the nursing home where she has lived for 25 years, according to medical staff.

From guns to paddles: peace develops with ecotourism in Colombia

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Crystalline waters and dream forests: although it seems an idyllic setting, the Pato River in Colombia has a dark past that its inhabitants decided to leave behind to build a better future with the opportunity offered by the Peace Accords.
Even though reincorporation projects were being planned in the area, with crops such as cassava, beans, tomatoes, and fish farming, a pioneering initiative came up with other options by chance. Rafting came up at the time of the laying down of arms,” Durverney Moreno, a former FARC combatant, explained to DW.

13 movie mistakes that made their scenes much better

Don't show me this message again✕
Films are complex beasts with so many moving parts that mistakes are unavoidable. Even the blockbusters with the biggest budgets and most sets of eyes on them routinely make it to cinemas with a few errors, especially when it comes to continuity.
From fluffed lines to errant extras, numerous mistakes have to be corrected on set (or, increasingly, in the editing suite) but occasionally they can bring a new and welcome quality to a scene.
Here we look at some of the unplanned and unwanted events that directors decided to keep in the final cut.

Recently, we looked at some of the best new restaurants to open in the Chicago suburbs in 2020. Now, we’ll highlight a handful that joined the city roster last year, ranging from very casual to one-of-a-kind exquisite fusion. If nothing else, 2020 gave us these seven great spots that should hopefully stick around a while.

Many downtown office workers continue to work from home at the moment, but new Loop arrival Minahasa is something you have to look forward to upon your return. The Revival Food Hall tenant brings Indonesian fare to the group of over a dozen vendors. Minahasa is one of only a handful of vendors open currently, for takeout/delivery only lunch and dinner at the moment, but when Revival is back to rocking during the lunch rush you can bet it will quickly become a favorite. Menu highlights include beef rendang, a beef stew braised in dry curry spice paste with coconut milk, soto ayam, an Indonesian chicken noodle soup, and two excellent chicken entrees.

Much of Latin America's Left Has a Blind Spot: The Environment

Much of Latin America’s Left Has a Blind Spot: The Environment
March 17, 2021
As center-left leaders in Europe and the U.S. prioritize the fight against climate change, the same cannot be said of their Latin American peers.

SÃO PAULO – When former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva made his much-awaited first speech as a de facto 2022 candidate last week, he cleverly projected himself as the exact opposite of Jair Bolsonaro: statesmanlike, centrist, pro-science and well-connected across the world. The former president also lambasted Bolsonaro’s mishandling of the pandemic, the economy and his controversial foreign policy, describing the former army captain as both divisive and incompetent.
