Police received a tipoff that Barasa was spotted crossing boarding a boda boda which he used to cross the border into Uganda.
Police had given the outspoken Member of Parliament 24 hours to surrender.
The revelations were made hours after the MP - who is on the run - sent a tweet on his official handle.
