Twitter Asks Why The Royal Family Is Investigating Meghan Markle, Not Prince Andrew

The difference has felt especially stark this week: In the days leading up to the Sussexes’ highly-anticipated Oprah special, Buckingham Palace announced it would investigate claims she bullied former staffers.
Meghan denied the claims, calling them the “latest attack on her character” in a statement on Wednesday.
Many on Twitter couldn’t agree more and didn’t hesitate to point out what appeared to be a double standard: While Meghan will be scrutinized over the accusations, the many sexual abuse allegations against Prince Andrew have been overlooked by the royal family.
Let me get this straight! So Buckingham Palace is investigating a bullying allegation against meghan, but not the alleged sex abuse allegation by Prince Andrew victims! Did I get that right?— queenbe. Carnival Of So-Called Experts (@queenbhuie) March 3, 2021

Tabloids Are Getting Called Out For Double Standard With Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle, Bullying And The Murder-Linked Earrings
Strangely, despite Meghan Markle not even speaking in any of the released footage, the Duchess has, once again, been targeted by the British press — which is the exact thing that led the couple to leave the royal family in the first place.
On Tuesday,
The Times reported that a number of sources claim that Meghan Markle had “bullied” palace aides during her time in Kensington Palace. The aides allege that a former advisor filed a bullying complaint against the Duchess as she “drove two personal assistants out of the household and was undermining the confidence of a third staff member”.

Twitter Calls Out Double Standard Between Meghan Markle and Prince Andrew

As the Duchess of Sussex faces yet another attack from the British media, people on Twitter are calling out the double standard in the tabloids' treatment of her versus Prince Andrew, who stepped down from royal duties last year after his close ties to disgraced financier and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein were revealed.
Yesterday,
The Times published a report that includes claims from royal palace aides who said that one of Meghan's former advisers had filed a bullying complaint against her while she lived at Kensington Palace. The report also comes just days before Meghan, who is pregnant, and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey is set to air.
