Tara Mahalia-Smith, the boy’s mother, told the MIDWEEK NATION this was communicated to her yesterday by police officers who investigated the incident at the ranch. The ranch, which was founded by talk show host Corey Lane, operates a youth programme focusing on outdoor activities and youth development. His mother, Tara-Mahalia Smith, said she was hoping charges would be brought against the ranch after her 14-year-old son was beaten and scalded by a group of six mostly older campers who were looking after the facility in the absence of chief rancher Corey Lane.
