The separate incidents happened in Trail, and just two days apart, on Oct. 5 and 7.
The upgrades will see a two-lane section between Chase and Salmon Arm widened to four lanes, along with an overpass being replaced.
“This day honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities,” said Splatsin First Nation.
The affected addresses are in electoral areas L (Grasslands), O (Lower North Thompson) and P (Rivers and the Peaks).
