Mr. Edward (Ed) Eugene Yoder, 89, of Valley View Retirement Community, formerly of Bratton Township, Mifflin County, passed unexpectedly from this earth and into the loving arms of Jesus on the morning of his 89th birthday on Dec. 21, 2020.
Ed was born on Dec. 21, 1931 in Bratton Township, to the late, Mr. Theodore G. Yoder and Salina A. (Hertzler) Yoder.
Also referred to as “Sonny” by his parents, neighbors and friends, he was the widower of Myrna D. (Zeigler) Yoder who passed away in 2013. The couple was married on March 22, 1958 and was blessed to spend 55 years of marriage before Myrna’s passing. Ed is survived by a brother, Robert Yoder and wife Patricia of State College, PA. He is also survived by a son, Brian E. and daughter in law, Cindy Yoder of Lewistown, a daughter, Dana L. of Harrisburg and an adopted daughter, Xiomaris Soriano, of New York City, New York. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Shannon Yetter of Lewistown, Caleb Yod ....

Oregon troopers, deputy justified in deadly shooting along Hwy 22, grand jury finds

SALEM, Ore. – A Marion County Grand Jury ruled that three state troopers and a deputy were justified in shooting and killing an armed robbery suspect after a chase along Highway 22 earlier this month.
The law enforcement officers fatally shot 27-year-old Brad Masters on December 8.
Masters was accused of robbing both a Dutch Brothers and a Dominoes location in Bend, Oregon at gunpoint before stealing a car from one of the pizza shop employees, the Marion County District Attorney’s Office said.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office pursued Masters, who sped off west along Highway 22 toward the Santiam Pass. They called off the chase near Suttle Lake, but issued a “Be On the Look Out” (BOLO) for other nearby law enforcement. ....

Bend man dies in police shooting in Linn County after high speed chase

A Bend man was shot and killed by police late Tuesday outside Gates after reportedly robbing two Bend businesses and fleeing nearly 100 miles in a stolen car.
The alleged crime spree that ended in the death of Brad Tyler Masters, 27, began around 10:15 p.m. at the Dutch Bros location at 603 NE Third St., Bend Police said in a statement.
Employees told police that a man, believed to be Masters, walked up to one of the drive-thru windows displaying a handgun and demanding money. He then ran to the nearby Dominoâs Pizza location at 253 SE Yew Lane where he also showed employees a handgun and demanded money, according to Bend Police Lt. Juli McConkey. ....
