This year’s US PGA Championship will be one to remember for five European Tour members who are all set to make their Major Championship debuts at Kiawah Island.
John Catlin, Garrick Higgo, Antoine Rozner, Kalle Samooja and Daniel van Tonder have all enjoyed recent success and good form on their way to earning a place in this week’s field – with Catlin, Higgo, Rozner and van Tonder all winning at least once on the European Tour in the last 12 months.

Eddie Pepperell birdied the last to jump out of a congested pack and take a one shot lead as he looks to win the trophy for a second time at the Betfred British Masters hosted by Danny Willett.
The Englishman won the event in 2018 - the same season he finished a career best 14th on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex - and a third round 68 moved him to ten under and put him in pole position to claim a third European Tour title at The Belfry.
MacIntyre's fellow Scot Calum Hill, another Italian in Guido Migliozzi, recent winner Dean Burmester and Pole Adrian Meronk were also at nine under, with 26 players within five shots of the lead.

Francesco Laporta carded the lowest round of his European Tour career to hit the front after day one of the 2021 Canary Islands Championship.
The Italian was a picture of consistency last week at Golf Costa Adeje as he went 68-67-67-71 but he showed he had truly found his feet in the final event of the Canary Islands Swing, posting a 62 to get to nine under and lead by one from home favourite Scott Fernandez.
Laporta triggered the second 59 Watch of the day as he got to nine under after 14 holes but parred his way in to card his best round of the 2021 Race to Dubai by five shots.

Five things to know as the European Tour returns to the Canary Islands for the inaugural Gran Canaria Lopesan Open
Start of the Canary Islands Swing
The European Tour has a rich history of hosting events in the Canary Islands, but makes its return to Gran Canaria this week for the first time since the Canaries Open de España in 2002, which was won by Sergio Garcia.
The inaugural event marks the start of three consecutive weeks of the new ‘Canary Islands Swing’ and will be followed by back-to-back events in Tenerife: The Tenerife Open and the Tenerife Championship.

Three-time European Tour winner Rafa Cabrera Bello is returning home from April 22-25 as host of the inaugural Gran Canaria Lopesan Open.
The Ryder Cup star, who was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, will host and participate in the first event of the new ‘Canary Islands Swing’ at Meloneras Golf in Maspalomas, which will be followed by the Tenerife Open at Golf Costa Adeje on April 29-May 2.
Cabrera Bello is passionate about the development of golf in the Canary Islands, and in 2019 he established the Circuito Juvenil Rafa Cabrera Bello, an annual series of tournaments for children and young golfers around the archipelago. The circuit that will celebrate its third test on Saturday April 24th at Maspalomas Golf Club, at the same time the professionals are fighting for the Gran Canaria Lopesan Open title in Meloneras.
