Northerners deployment in South-East army formations suspicious – Ohanaeze

THE apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on Monday warned the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and his regime that the secret ‘shoot-on-sight order’ to soldiers on Igbo youths was a call for another “pogrom and genocide.”
Ohanaeze said it had uncovered the plan of the Nigerian military to massacre Igbo youths using Fulani-Hausa military commanders.
The Igbo socio-cultural group cautioned the Federal Government to refrain from the use of force in resolving the present national crises.
The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof. George Obiozor, in a statement by Ohanaeze’s spokesman, Chief Alex Ogbonnia, said extrajudicial killings of innocent Igbo youths by security agencies, especially the military, had brought forth the new security situation in the South-East. ....

Ohanaeze decries shoot-on-sight order against Igbo youths


• Says it’s call for another genocide
Ohanaeze Ndigbo has condemned the “shoot-on-sight” order by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Nigerian military against protesting Igbo youths, warning that such was call for another pogrom and genocide.
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation claimed that the alleged move would commence from Orlu, Imo State, in the next few days, adding that the secret plot was recently elaborated by a report ran by Sahara Reporters.
National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Alex Ogbonnia, pointed out that the recent deployment of soldiers in Igboland had confirmed the reports.
The statement read in part: “The attention of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has been drawn to the ‘Shoot-on-Sight Order’ given to Nigerian soldiers against Igbo youths in the coming weeks. Ohanaeze warns Buhari govt over alleged 'shoot at sight order' on Igbo youths

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has strongly warned against an alleged “Shoot at Sight Order” given to the Nigerian soldiers as a way to engage the Igbo youths in the oncoming week.
Reports emerged at the weekend concerning the new secret plan which would commence from Orlu in Imo State.
DAILY POST reports that the Army is yet to react to the said order.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo had now described it as “very disturbing”, lamenting the pattern of deployment of northern-muslim military officers to the Eastern region, which according to the organisation, lends credence to the alleged plot to commence ‘Shoot at Sight’ on Igbo youth. ....
