Everybody goes, and it always sticks. so carlan was old but you re still like, hey, that was too soon. you don t ever want it to end. that was worth it when you saw people just coming up and saying i haven t laughed that hard in a long time. people need it, and that s the purpose of going out and doing it. comedians at their best what they re providing is a very life affirming experience. the minute you laugh you do feel better. it sounds like a cliché but it s true. for all our craziness, we do leave it better than we found it. we do bring some joy. for whatever selfish reasons it s a noble profession. see how happy i am? we just keep moving on. we don t know what we re doing here, and then you allow me to make you laugh it s tremendous and i m blessed to be part of it. and i terribly miss the men and women who have gone before me. ....
