In important news for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students of classes 9 to 12, the Board has introduced new changes to its assessment and evaluation process for the next academic session 2021-2022. This is in line with the New Education Policy.
The CBSE released the new evaluation criteria on April 22 that mentions that the Board is moving towards Competency-Based Education (CBE) where questions will assess the application of concepts in real-life or unfamiliar situations. These will be part of the question papers of Classes 10, 12 board exams, and the final exams of classes 9 and 11.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a meeting to discuss the Class 10 and 12 board exams due in May and demands to cancel them because of the massive Covid spike across the country.
PM Modi will meet with Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal "Nishank" and top officials at noon.
The Class 10 and 12 board exams will begin May 4. The Class 10 exams will end on June 7 and Class 12, four days later. The exams would be in the "offline-written mode", the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) said in February, at a time daily Covid cases in India had dropped to fewer than 15,000 a day.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday requested the Centre to cancel the upcoming CBSE board examination in view of the incessant rise in coronavirus cases in the country.  Warning that conducting the exams may contribute to the large-scale spread of the virus, he said the exmination centres could emerge as major hotspots.

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE Date Sheet 2021 for Class 10th and 12th board examinations is eagerly awaited. While the board has announced the dates and shared a general timeline, clarity and detailed date sheet for both theory and practical exams have not been released. For most schools, the delay is causing confusion in deciding Class 9, 11 examinations as well as the academic calendar for 2021-22.
