Keeping its poll promise, the Himachal Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in its first cabinet meeting on Friday approved restoration of the Old Pension Scheme.
Cabinet also decided to adopt the Election Manifesto of the Congress party as policy document of the Government
The Congress government in Himachal Pradesh on Friday decided to provide Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for all government employees who are presently covered under the defined contributory pension scheme, referred to as NPS, with the move expected to benefit about 1.36 lakh employees in the state.
The decision was taken ahead of Makar Sakranti at the first meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
