Climate Policy Outlook for MENA: 2022 and Beyond

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is poised to take the spotlight on climate mitigation and adaptation efforts. Early last year Egypt joined five other countries to form the Adaptation Action Coalition, to accelerate global action on adaptation to help achieve a climate-resilient world by 2030. And just ahead of the COP26 meeting in Glasgow, several countries from across the MENA pledged to achieve net-zero carbon emissions within the period 2050-2060.
