Life is what happens when you’re too busy making plans or in her case, working. I read this far too often with celebrities. Charmaine, Louis Koo, Eddie Peng, etc. All of these artists want to date but they are all far too busy with work. You can’t be greedy and get the best of both worlds. If they want a love life, then they need to sacrifice some time from their career. That applies to anything really. If you want something, you have to sacrifice something else whether it be your career, time, money, or effort, etc. This reminds me a bit of Kate Tsui. I think she has always wanted a love life and to pursue her own goals but being an actor and her fame has made it hard for her to attain those things, so she took the bold step to leave the industry, move to another country and start over. Kate is only a few years younger than Charmaine but she knew that being in her 40s, she is already pushing time so she up and left. It’s a sacrifice, sure, but also a reality check. Hopefully it’s working out for Kate. And hopefully Charmaine quits dreaming about getting married and having kids and thinking it will all happen naturally with fate. If it hasn’t happened naturally all these years cuz work got in the way, then it’s highly unlikely it will suddenly work out for her now. It can happen still, yes, but she has to make room for it to happen. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. And that’s exactly what she’s doing.
