This is a succinct response to the British government consultation on the future of GMO technology taking place amid zero publicity and about to close (last day for submissions Wednesday). Note also the valuable introduction at Alliance for Natural Health.

This document is couched in up-side down language which some might term Orwellian:
1) It is actually about the
deregulation of genetic technologies
2) It represents this as a “green” policy when it is patently an opportunistic attack by an industrial lobby on our natural environment, and upon bio-diversity. It could not be more anti-green in any way that could normally or traditionally be understood

Why some patients prefer to go to quacks

Why some patients prefer to go to quacks

Desperation at failed treatment or if they don’t have much time to live, can drive people to try all sorts of things – and there are unscrupulous people at every turn, ready to take advantage.
I once had a patient who came to me with a strange request. He opened his briefcase and took out a small bottle of dark fluid, and asked me to inject it into him. When I looked at the bottle, I realised that it was neither sealed nor sterilised, and nor were its contents mentioned. It looked like a bottle you buy off the street from the ‘bottlewallas’ situated outside public hospitals. When I asked him where he had got the bottle from, he said that a well-known hakim had given it to him. I asked whether the hakim was qualified, and realised that he was a quack. He had asked the patient to first drink the medicine, and since it had not helped with his arthritis, he asked him to get it injected by a doctor. I told the patient that no doctor in his right mind would participate in such a dangerous experiment which might cause sepsis and death. I empathised with the patient and realised that he had been extensively treated by many physicians and rheumatologists, but to no avail, so in desperation had chosen this path.

cutting taxes, the biggest direct chelation in our lifetime, he is appointing originalist to the supreme cour. this will impact the country for generations but he's securing the border, he is supporting our second amendment rights, he is cutting all of these new trade deals that help americans, farmers, manufacturers, car companies, household median income, it's the highest it has been in history. at jobless claims are the lowest they have been since 1969. that was when i was eight years old. the economy now, conservative principles, firing on all cylinders. including a record low unemployment for african-americans, hispanic-americans, asian-americans, women in the workplace. we have a record number of americans employed. these are all things you supported when you were campaigning in 2012. now you say you don't like the president's style. i can accept that. i'm from new york but i also lived in rhode island, california, alabama, georgia.

age with his issues. he is repeating a similar wrap, although he's changed it a little bit to be somewhat more about diversity. he hasn't had a really much appeal over into the minority communities. and as i tell you, if sanders and warren both split the progressive vote, than actually it'll make it easier for a moderate to win. they each know that. one of them has to knock out the other, or they are both going to split the vote and they know that. >> laura: i think that he and beto should have a .-offered hoop points better. bernie does the fast point and beto does the point that doesn't really go with what he is saying. it's a big point of just a chelation. democrat voters are repeatedly saying and mark knows this, they don't really care that much of the candidate meshes with all their views. they want to beat trump. that is the golden goose they have to get. they want to beat trump.
