A group of students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) demonstrated on the university campus today protesting resumption of political activities in the university at night despite a ban.
The Buet authorities last night cancelled the residential facilities of a student and formed a probe body in the wake of the students' protest against alleged political activities on campus by Chhatra League
Hundreds of students joined the demonstration expressing solidarity with the movement and held a press briefing, where they declared their opposition to "using BUET campus for political motives", and immediately boycotted all academic activities including the scheduled classes and exams of 30 and 31 March.
Prof Anu Muhammad said yesterday that the majority of the people cannot cope with the current market prices given their income.
