WOMEN WHO INSPIRE US Features Contributors Features Contributors In the spirit of International Women’s Month and Mother’s Day, we at Impact Features are paying homage to the women who inspire us. From mothers to politicians to teachers, women have impacted Impact’s contributors deeply. Mothers As cliché as it sounds my mum inspires me the most – although I’d never tell her that. My mum moved back to the UK leaving her immediate family back home for good when she was only a year older than me to build the future she wanted. I often reflect on the stories she would tell me about living in a woman’s suffrage and the challenges she faced as a full-time pregnant student with a full-time job. All these stories remind me of how strong she is and how she has always been willing to put herself on the line to make sure my sisters and I never lacked anything whilst growing up. ....
On the 15 th of March, we are holding a panel event on faith in the legal profession in collaboration with BarSoc. There will be barristers and solicitors from different religions, so our members can get their perspective on how their faith has impacted their work as a lawyer, looking at conflicts of interest and how they navigate these in the legal profession, etc. More events are also in the planning stages, including something with The Howard League for those interested in criminal law and a collaboration with the Business, Management and Leadership Society for equality and diversity week.
