York times on line is going to charge you. they said the fees would start early next year. joining me now, financial analy analyst. good morning. if you look at print and revenue, the steepest decline in the industry. you ve got circulation problems, layoffs, 10,000 people have lost their jobs, 150 newspapers have shut down over the last couple years. problems brought on by ret session but also the competition, so this is a way to shore up revenue and find additional sources of revenue. how is this going to work? if you already subscribe to the new york times, you re not going to have to pay for this. other people will have to pay a flat monthly rate, about $5 a month, which sounds reasonable to me. but the idea is to sort of capitalize on people currently on the new york times. this is the most popular newspaper site in the country, so the thinking is why not ....
