Dacera's death due to 'ruptured aortic aneurysm' – PNP medico-legal report – Manila Bulletin

This is consistent with the findings in the autopsy report of the police.
During the continuation of the preliminary investigation on the case of Dacera on Wednesday (January 27), Makati Police submitted the result of Dacera’s histopathology to the Prosecutor’s Office.
In the said report, it was determined that Dacera’s underlying cause of death is ruptured aortic aneurysm.
Police Lt. Col. Joseph Palmero MD, the medico-legal officer who examined the body, said in his expert opinion, the manner of death as homicide is ruled out in Dacera’s case “because the aortic aneurysm is considered a medical condition.”

Dacera was found unconscious in the bathtub of her hotel room in Makati City on New Year’s Day following a party with friends the night before, according to initial investigation. Authorities said hotel personnel tried to revive the 23-year-old before she was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared dead.
Police have arrested three suspects and filed complaints of rape and homicide against them before the city prosecutor. Eight other persons are being hunted down, with the police deploying tracker teams to locate and contact them, Depositar said.

Sinas approves recommendation to relieve cops in Dacera case

PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Chief Debold Sinas has approved the recommendation of the PNP Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM) to relieve the police personnel involved in the investigation on the death of 23-year-old flight attendant Christine Dacera.
Sinas said the DIDM recommended the relief of Makati police chief Colonel Harold Depositar, two investigators who were the first responders, the medico-legal officer and scene of the crime operatives (Soco) from the Southern Police District pending the conduct of investigation on possible lapses and negligence.
“However the SITG (Special Investigation Task Group) under regional director of NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office) might need their services (in the ongoing investigation of the case) so kasama pa po sila doon. There is no transfer of documents and evidence on others,” he said.

The Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) has revoked the certificate of authority to operate and suspended for six months the accreditation of the City Garden Grand Hotel, for breaking Covid-19 safety rules leading to the death of a flight attendant after a New Year’s revelry held at the property.
Alongside this, the DOT gave a “stern warning” to the industry that hotels used as quarantine facilities should not accept leisure guests and host social gatherings, while staycation hotels cannot be used for quarantine.

Puyat lamented the “greed” of hotels who continue to defy health protocols and other regulations despite repeated reminders from the DOT and the risks to their guests.
“Makonsensya naman kayo (Have conscience). You are endangering ‘yong mga guest ninyo (your guests),” she said in an interview with ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo.
“’Yong mga gusto doon na walang kamuwang-muwang, na gusto lang mag-hotel na hindi sila makapag-out of town, gusto nilang makasama ang kanilang mga loved ones; pero at the same time, merong kayong mga nagku-quarantine, makonsensya naman kayo (Those who just wanted to stay in hotels because they cannot go out of town and just wanted to be with their loved ones, have no idea that you are accommodating guests under quarantine at the same time. I hope you’re bothered by your conscience),” she appealed.
