12,000 feet on average, the indian ocean. the region we re looking at is very remote, very poor or little radar coverage out here. temperature wise weç are looking at a relatively warm ocean, temperatures between 70 and 80 degrees farenheit. the area of interest is not that warm. that is in general the indian ocean. we have to go much farther south. once we re south of 40 degrees latitude south you re going to be seeing temperatures drop off quickly. in this region temperatures could be as cool as 50 degrees farenheit. there is a disturbance moving through and that is making search here tougher. we have poor visibility, choppy seas, rough surf. a lot of cloud coverage with it. it is going to be movingç through. once it does over the next couple of days we are going to be seeing conditions improving. the ocean current is something we ve been talking about. generally speaking across the indian ocean we do have a counterclockwise flow. ....

But we ve got blizzards and you ve got follow up on this tornado and this mess. we re still understanding the scope of it. take it away. i want to show you a really unique vantage point. the nasa satellite is taking pictures of what the tornado outbreak looked like from outer space. as i put this into motion, you see the brighter white. we zoom in on here. the temperature of the clouds showing how cold it was and realnydicating the severity of the storm. you can see the burst of cloud coverage. that s the tornadoes forming. now, we do have new information from the storm surveyors that are on the scene that the actual long track supercell that started in newton county, mississippi, and dissipated in north carolina was on the ground for seven hours and 24 minutes. that means it traveled 380 miles. incredible. now, this was not one continuous tornado, but the parent storm of multiple violence and deadly tornadoes. some new information as the surveyors are on the scene still gathering in ....
