Little perspective on this. united and continental airlines have announced a $3 billion merger today to create a world s biggest airline. if the deal is approved, the massive coast to coast u.s. airline would fly under the name, united, and call chicago its home. the airline is expected that the consolidation could save them a billion bucks by 2013. tom parsons is the ceo of best fares. what s it going to do for passengers? well, again, i think it s going to give some passengers the name recognition, so if you re trying to fly between point a to b, let s say to mexico, today, you can t do that without using a code share. at least you re going to see the biggest airlines serving more u.s. cities than ever before. as it comes to prices however, i think that united or the new united will still have to compete with the low-cost ....

Information online than they are getting over here on the monitors. a lot of flights are listed as cancelled but here at the american airlines departure board, well, not everything is accurate. american airlines is actually not having any flights until 10:00 out of laguardia. if you look at the board you will see on time for the 7:40 and 7:50 departures. similar problems for the united airlines board which talks about flights to houston. those are code share flights with continental which actually operates those. they have a bunch of flights listed to houston this morning, but indeed, those flights aren t happening either. united isn t starting flights until later in the day. so we ve got lots of cancellations. i ll give you a quick list of some of the numbers. delta airlines today has already cancelled 450 flights. u.s. airways, 606 flights. ....
