New Delhi, Aug 7 (IANS) The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Monday that contaminated common cold syrup found in Iraq last month was manufactured by an Indian pharmaceutical company based in Maharashtra.
The WHO issued an alert over a batch of Cold Out, an India-made common cold syrup, which was being sold in Iraq over higher than acceptable limits of contaminants in the product.
The cough syrup, manufactured by Fourrts (India) Laboratories Pvt Ltd and branded COLD OUT, was found to contain unacceptable amounts of contaminants diethylene glycol (0.25%) and ethylene glycol (2.1%).
