Eight barges with about 100,000 litres of products suspected to be illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), also known as diesel, have been impounded in the Bonny Area of Rivers State. This was disclosed by the Commander, Joint Task Force, South-South, OPDS, Real Admiral Olusegun Ferreira, while addressing journalists on Sunday. The commander explained that the vessels containing adulterated diesel were impounded by security forces during a stop-and-search operation across several creeks.
