For about 48 hours. they want to keep the pressure steady at about 8,000 to 9,000 pounds per square inch. so, high pressure is actually good. that means that the oil isn't leaking out from anywhere else in the well casing. over the next few hours and days, a couple of things could happen, anderson. the cap could contain all of the oil and bp will shut it in, as they say, or it could contain some of the oil, which means they'll still send some crude to be selected by ships on the surface, or worst case, the cap won't work at all. just today thad allen actually put a date on it, telling reporter...
