Perak Domestic Trade and Consumerism Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Yunus Jamahri (pic) said that although there could be a slight shortage of the 1kg packets of cooking oil in Perak, it does not affect the overall supply of the item in the state. “Several media outlets have reported that there is a shortage of packed cooking oil and a price hike in the 5kg bottled cooking oil. “However, we would like to clarify that the 1kg packed cooking oil is listed as a controlled item under the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP), ” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Jan 20)
