India's April-February fiscal deficit reaches 86.5% of FY24 target

In terms of spending, February saw the Centre's total expenditure rise by 20.44 percent to Rs 3.93 lakh crore. This meant that total expenditure for the first 11 months of 2023-24 stood at Rs 37.47 lakh crore, up 7.3 percent YoY, while capital expenditure is 36.5 percent higher during this period.
