Coronavirus in India | As COVID-19 cases spike again, Centre sends teams to states to 'break the chain of transmission'

The Centre has already asked several states to focus on undertaking aggressive measures to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 and to ensure that RT-PCR testing is amplified.

New Delhi: Amid a sudden surge in coronavirus cases in some states, the Central government has deputed high-level multi-disciplinary teams to Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir. The teams have been given the task to assist these states in implementing public health measures for targeted COVID-19 response and management.
The government said the specialised teams, which have three members each, will liaison closely with these state and UT administrations and find out the reasons behind the recent surge in the number of COVID-19 cases there.
