Since then, Stuff has spoken to her son, as well as a former inmate and friend. Both said Sze had been complaining of pain and discomfort months before she was seen by doctors. When she was eventually examined towards the end of 2020, she was first diagnosed with sarcoidosis, her son, Benji Sze, said. She complained the medication she was prescribed was not effective, and she was still in pain. But it wasn’t until early February, when she was given a more comprehensive health check, that it was found she had stage 4 lung cancer and was told she only had months to live.
