Sweet Happy Days, a 1950s-themed ice-cream parlor, opened last weekend at 86 Remsen St. in Cohoes. The owner is Brenda Hage, who last year opened Teta Marie’s Lebanese Restaurant down the block.

Jason Grant, owner of
The Crisp Cannoli Bakery & Cafe in East Greenbush, is developing a butcher shop and smokehouse in a former Stewart’s location on Columbia Turnpike in Schodack, according to a
Facebook post. The business will offer free vendor booths in the parking lot to local farmers, the announcement days.
Among the offerings will be venison processing, smoked meats, fresh-cut steaks, deli meats, sausage and more.
“We are hoping to have this space up and running as soon as possible,” Grant writes. He founded The Crisp Cannoli in 2010. Last May, it moved to a new newly constructed building at 1 Springhurst Drive in East Greenbush. He also operates the 6-month-old
