Summer is on its way and, for many, that means theme park vacations with the family — especially for anyone looking to make up for amusement park trips that didn’t come to fruition in 2020.
Much has been postponed and delayed by the pandemic, but 2021 is likely to see more openings than 2020 ushered in — even if many opening dates still remain vague.

Disney World's Blizzard Beach Has Finally Reopened — Here's What to Expect

Enhanced cleaning, temperature checks, reduced capacity, and mandatory face coverings are standard across Disney World properties right now, including Blizzard Beach, but there are a few differences guests will notice at the water park. For example, there are areas where masks are required (like in line for food or locker rentals, at the park's entry and exit, and in retail areas), but they aren't permitted on attractions or in the water, so guests can remove their face coverings while walking to and from the waterslides and pools.
There are social distancing markers in queues, chairs are positioned so parties are at least six feet apart, and there's lots of signage reminding guests of the policies throughout the park. There's also ample space to spread out in the lounge areas and even in Cross Country Creek, one of the nation's longest lazy rivers. Guests looking for a little extra room can book a Polar Patio, a private deck with added amenities and space for up to six guests.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Walt Disney World's Blizzard Beach is once again welcoming guests back for some fun in the Florida sun.
The water park officially reopened on Sunday. It did not reopen with Disney's other four Florida parks last July.
At Sunday's reopening, guests enjoyed their favorite Blizzard Beach attractions, such as Summit Plummet, Teamboat Springs and Cross Country Creek, one of the country's longest lazy rivers.

Disney's Blizzard Beach water park will reopen to guests for the 2021 season on March 7, the Walt Disney World Resort announced today.
Disney World's water parks did not reopen along with the theme parks back in July, after the resort closed to guests due to the pandemic in March. In September, Disney announced that the water parks would remain closed until March 2021, with one of the parks returning then. But the resort did not specify whether it would reopen Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon.
Today we learned it would be Blizzard Beach.
