Electricity workers have shut down the national grid following the declaration of an indefinite strike by organised labour unions – the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria. The spokesperson for Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, Ndidi Mbah, in an interview with Daily Post on Tuesday said electricity workers, the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), followed directives of the Nigeria Labour Congress had withdrawn their services around 11:20am on Tuesday, which would result in nationwide blackout.
"We hereby note that the nation's grid is intact and supplying bulk electricity to distribution load centres nationwide," the TCN said.
