It's becoming quite the uplifting and rewarding year for the Westport Community School System as another recipient has been crowned with a prestigious honor. At Westport Junior High School is a young teacher who is a prime example of how hard work can pay off. As a Westport alum, I am proud to announce that Maegan Bernier has been awarded the second Teacher of the Year award from the Junior National Honor Society. It's safe to say that our teachers here on the SouthCoast have been the unsung heroes that helped continue forward with the education of our youth during difficult times. Within the Westport Community School System, one teacher's selflessness and educational ingenuity stood out significantly, which made it a pretty easy decision to bestow him with a high honor.
