Acquaintance charged in murder of Battle Creek man

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN) – A woman who was an acquaintance of a murdered Battle Creek man has been charged in his death. 48-year-old Monica Gordon was arrested Thursday by Battle Creek Police in connection with the death of Daniel Murray. She was arraigned on charges of open murder and felony firearm, as a habitual offender and is being held without bond. Police were called on May 1 for a welfare check on the 61-year-old Murray at his home on North Broad Street. Police found him dead in the home from apparent gunshot wounds.
