Dave Willner, head of trust and safety at OpenAI, has announced his departure from the company, citing challenges in balancing work and family life.
Trust and safety departments have taken on a high-profile role in technology companies such as OpenAI, Twitter, Alphabet and Meta as they seek to limit the spread of hate speech, misinformation and other harmful content on their platforms.
Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati will directly manage the team on an interim basis, and Dave Willner will continue to advise through the end of the year, OpenAI said
Willner took over his role at OpenAI in February last year, after working at Airbnb and Facebook.
